Need Bench Ideas

Okay fam, I need some ideas for benches. I need to maximize my space. I am looking for cheap but not ugly as I have to consider the wife's opinion of my setup. What I have has outlived its usefulness. Post your pics and maybe even what materials you use. Pros and cons of your setup might be handy.

I made a rectangular bench with 3 "floors" above one another.
Bottom one for dappled shade, middle one for half shade and top layer for full sun.
Maximized height usage, limited in the wide and deep dimensions.
Back then, wood was still cheap. I think I spent about 40 euros for about 1.92m² space occupying just 0.64m² of floor space.

I'm in a new house and going to be building some new benches soon. In the past I've done the standard board and cinderblock benches. Very functional and affordable, but would like to do something a little more attractive this time. Before I go get the lumber and start sawing, I thought I'd ask...

This thread shows a very wide variety of designs.

My bench is very cheap and doesn’t look half bad. It consists of a discarded slatted shutter that I literally found on the side of the road and 6 cinder blocks. Total cost, after water treating the unstained shutter, was about $20, with tons of wood treater left.
