It almost died, but has rcovered now. Since there are leaf buds closer to the trunk, I'll be able to work on it again.
So is the back part of the trunk with the hole dead? I have a bougie that I know part of the trunk is dead, but the rest of the tree is growing fine.I transplanted this big bougainvillea this morning. I had to use Hoyer lift and hydraulic cart to remove it out of plastic pot .

Soil substance: pumice/ mini pine bark/ ground fir with 1:2:1 ratio. This mixture: Biochar 10:1 ratio . Humic acid granules were scattered into the mixture.
