I had a post asking for opinions and I took what i gained from that post and did some work on my 14 year old "nana". I decided to go with a different front than what others saw but I feel like I did pretty well...considering this was my first real in depth wire job and I also repotted it. The pot is a little bit oversized for it but I think it's ok since I'm on a tight budget. My goal is to convince the tree to fill in closer to the trunk.

Let me know what you guys think, I love getting feedback. Forgive the after picture, its dark out and the flash on the camera makes it looks weird...

It's a bit hard to see the photo. The only thing that bothers my eye is the bottom left branch. The curve seems artificial, and the space above it seems too wide. Part of that would be fixed with some backbudding, and foliage growth, but consider taking that branch up instead of down, and see what that does for you.
Hope you get some buds!

Or . . . eliminating that branch and bring all the other branches and the top in by quite a bit. (The top probably should be reduced more, but I can't see the branching.)

You should also wire some bends into the remaining branches to bring the foliage in closer to the trunk. It is a tad pom-pomish now. But it IS fixable.

the goal is to bring in the foiliage with that bottom branch so that I can remove the bend. this is a virt that October did on my other thread and is the general idea I'm trying to achieve. I'm not sold on completely removing the branch. I think it'll make it look....strange until the foiliage can grow in.

This virt is a very good place to aim for. If you are able to, go ahead and start bending that left branch toward where it'll be, get it started while it's still limber enough to move it easily.

I REALLY like your vert Tadakun and I think you did a nice job in the styling. I think the styling reflects the direction your trying to head in the vert.

--Full disclosre, I only have just under 2 years in Bonsai.

its not my virt, username October made it because I was having trouble finding the direction I wanted to take the tree. here's another photo since its day out now.

the second branch up on the right was originally growing out of the back of the tree away from the viewer. I decided to take advantage of its shape and wire it out more to the right so that side didn't look so weak. looking at this photo though I'm thinking i need to do something with the branch that seems to be sticking straight up slightly off to the left from the very top.
