Mame pots on a mini pottery wheel

Here's one I finished a couple of days ago. I made the feet very low, so low that it looks like there's no feet at all. I really like this look. I'm planning to glaze this pot, not sure yet on the color of glaze.

BTW, easiest way to re hydrate clay is to open the bag, ( being certain it is airtight) add a little water and place entire sealed bag in a bucket of water. It may sound odd but if you think about it you will find it very logical. Depending upon how dray the clay is it will be ready to use in a day to a week. If it is just a little too dry, a quarter cup of water an a bag soaking overnight will do it. Drier requires more water, half to a cup, and a longer soak. I have done both. I have even taken rock hard clay that was years old and re hydrated it, though the soak took adding additional water and a soak for a couple of weeks.
Better to add a little water and add more if needed. If your clay is too wet you have to let it dry out a bit.
Enjoyed the chat but I will be away until late afternoon.
Thank you for this!!!!!

Finished these two couple nights ago. They were sitting in the damp box for more than a month waiting to be finished. These pots also have low feet. I'm really digging how low the low low pots sit......almost like the lowriders in Cali.

I'm going to dub these low pots "lowriders".

Cactus do bonsai! Bonsai is a process to dwarf stuff and while we mutter under our breathe sometimes, we accept many different species which are not inherently woody as bonsai-light.

I was just messing with you. I'm glazing all the pots this weekend, need to figure out what color glazes to play with.

Just loaded the last of the glazed pots for Batch # 2 in the kiln today. These should be ready tomorrow around 1700. I'm really curious to see how a couple of them will look as I used some new glazes and combos.

@Forsoothe! there's a couple of cactus pots here that should have some nice glaze combos......the cactus will be really happy to see the pretty colors 😁

Glaze firing is done. Not my best firing, but I'll still take it. Several pots ended up with warped rims and some pinholes. A few pots will get refired to try to correct the pinholes. Hopefully I can save those pots.
