Good to know, definitely going to make an appointment.

The owner is definitely not tech savy, but from the few posts about trees I've seen here and elsewhere, he knows how to grow a pre-bonsai trunk as good as anybody.

I was one of the last to post in the growing grounds thread (of DOOM) that I'd bought from him and had a positive experience. I drove up and ended up buying a large Japanese Red Pine after intending to come away with a JBP. I'm still pleased with my purchase ...and since I drove it home I didn't have any issues with shipping.

If you're interested in coming to Green Thumb in Greenville SC, our study group meets on the 4th Saturday of the month. John's there all the time though. He's got some nice tridents that I'd take a look at. Nothing in a (finished) bonsai pot, but some that aren't far from it.
