Japanese Flowering Quince cuttings in training.

Oh boy! I did not post any thing on the forum for months!
This Chojubai has been flowering all the way from February up to today! Unbelievable! I plan to separate those suckers this fall so that I can have more tree to play with! :-)
Have a nice weekend to all.

This Chojubai has been living in hot dry area more than a year. I am confident to say that it will survive here.
It looks like giving the flower all year around here but the bursted flowering is in Spring.
I took couples of pictures this morning. Few months ago, I tried to make some cuttings but they did not survive at all, even though I gave them optimal humidity! Next year, I will separate the small babies from their mother.

This Nichi-Getsu-Sei starts having flower buds at this time.
I will start training it next year.

I was able to do two air laying on the Nichi-Getsu-Sei in 2015. I separated them from the mother tree 6 weeks ago.
As today, they are ready to grow fully this year. I will start training them as soon as possible.
The 1st: Double trunk.

Its flower buds are also swelling up at this time. I can not wait to see they are in flowers!

I am trying to learn how to recognize the flower patterns based on their bud patterns.

It is interesting that to know that the flower buds usually come with the group of 3!

Tuan... when do you take cuttings for propagation? My quince seem to be a couple of weeks behind yours...

Hi Greg,
I did cutting around March to April. To take cutting from this particular specimen, it is little tricky. If you want to get the offspring with all kind of color, I don't think you can do cutting! It must be air laying!
