I just bought a portable greenhouse.

Winter is quickly approaching in australia so i have moved the majority of my tree's in.

I have figs, chinese elm, jap maple, swamp cypress, juniper's etc in it at the moment. Should i moved my japanese black pines in there aswell?

Is it better to leave my trees's in here year round or take them out in summer?

Would not having direct sunlight slow growth?

Hahaha.

Warm days with cold nights atm. I know a greenhouse is not a necessity, part of the reason for buying it is that i am getting a huski puppy and dont want it chewing my bonsai
 
I also got one last year. Works wonders from about a month before springtime when its still cool here in NZ. Outside its cool, but with the sun it heats up and stays warm all day inside. I control the temp by opening vents if needs be. That gives me an extra two months growing time.
I'm now to squeezing some extra time in to extend the season some. My worry is when the maples and other deciduous trees drop their leaves I cant leave them in there anymore, as the sunshine days in winter heats it up to much, and that will affect their hibernation.
I actually got the frame only to protect the trees from the vicious winter winds and storms, but am really surprised how well it works for growing on plants. I take everything out come summer as it gets excruciatingly hot in there under the baking sun. I left some succulents in there this past summer and they almost fried :eek:
 
Take the trees out in the spring. Put them back in the greenhouse just at the start of winter. If you leave them in the greenhouse in warm weather you will roast them. It's way too hot for anything in the summer.
