Yes I still believe in Trump. Have you bothered to look and the unemployment rate; the lowest since the 80's, the stock market has hit several record highs, the people accros the globe respect us again, and all of this has been done by executive orders. Have you notiuced that some of the countries that fled overseas have come home and others are building here for the first time. His congress doesn't want him to succeed because he threatens the status quo and their cushy little jobs, many are members of the same party. I search a lot of news sources and outside of the Fake news, and there is a lot of it even on the right, no one has proved to me that Trump is incompetent. Even if he was--- that is not an impeachable offense. We have had recently Presidents that thought we had 57 states, We had one that wanted the Arab countries to talk together like a bunch of Christians----- so brilliance is not prerequisite to the White House.

You have only pointed out that you don't like me particularly and have resorted to insults, and Alain has resorted to the verbal equivalent of the bi-labial fricative.

I'm supposed to salute a draft dodger? On this veterans day I think you deserve the finger but I will over look it because it brings up a side point; the people that desired to escape military service when there was a draft to dodge did so by joining on campus political groups the SDS and bombed bancks and such. Claiming to want peace they fomented violence and killed people. If they stayed in school they became teachers and polluted the minds of our children after they threw dog shit at us when we came home.

Give me the finger all you want. I come from a military family. My father dodged the draft, too.....he actually joined of his own volition. After he got his ass thru his tour, saw his "welcome" upon return and was treated like garbage by the government he served for the rest of his life, well, he was determined not to let his children have the same fate befall them. But my older brother did sneak in......so there was no way I was getting in. So give me the finger all you want, but stop propping up a President whom could care less about you.

Don't put words in my mouth then of course what kind of friend keeps bashing away at the same things that they know are going to offend their friend? It's ok as long as the left is doing the bashing???

That sounds like so much crap. I had dog crap thrown at me, was harassed at work when I did find work and I was denied employment on the basis that no one wanted to hire one of those crazy Viet Nam vets.

At the time when i lived in Dundee, Scotland, back in the early 70s, my parents sent me a letter saying that the "gendarmerie" was looking for me because I didn't turn up to the local army barracks: at that time, there was a compulsory draft for males, one year in the army.

When they told them I was abroad, they said "we'll find him", which they did. I went to the French consulate in Edimburgh, told the doctor about my bad sight, my 80 yr-old grandma's heart problems, and how I would hate to fight and kill my cousins for it was still the cold war and if there was a war I would have to kill Poles (my grandparents settled in France in the mid-1920s); He told me "I don't think the French army will need you".

On the wall was a "Légion d'honneur": this Scot doctor had been De Gaulle's personal doctor during the war.

So I did dodge the army, there was no war, I had a girlfriend, and a future ahead. And this man knew these were different times, times opf peace. He probably knew much more about war and peace than the 20-year-old, long-haired student I was then.

He probably knew much more about war, and certainly didn't want another one to happen again.

Like my father and uncles, probably wanted to "make this world peaceful" (again?)

PS: never ever saw anyone carrying a gun here, there, and in the many countries I've been to in 62 years. And we, more or less, live in a peaceful world in spite of the "American" (US) culture that is spread through TV and "social" media. So far.
