Corny jigs

Ragtime is the music everyone hates to love. We all roll our eyes when someone mentions it, but by the end of the song we're all nodding our heads or tapping our feet in time.
There's no excuse for not hearing more of it.

I actually really like the later years.. but not quite the last years, too!

Like.. "When the man cones around" Is a personal favorite.. so dark... so moving..

I wanted to "counter" with said song, But.... not corny..

Soooo..

Here's one that reminds me of riding the bus to school.. and being too young to understand how... "hollow" most Pop Music is..

The water is wide. An excellent adaptation in French by a New-Zealander. I also have the LP with the English version in my basement.

So seventies, the days of folk, and hope, and dope... ;-)

 
J'ai quitté mon pays (I left my country) . The 1 million or so that left Algeria had been part of this country for generations, and made Algeria's culture a great culture. The young "Arab" (a very popular, well-known comedian, disabled) hugging the old "pied-noir" because they have the same roots.


The time when Jewish people were the stars, so part of the culture that no one could imagine they could be killed for what amounts to "pure race"...


I think we are greater when we welcome the refugees, whether from Syria, Irak, Myanmar or Ukraine : I don't believe in any god, but those who do can share the same, won't they ?

Where my mother lives, two flats have been given to 2 families, 8 people. The least we can do.
But I, they wish they can go back again to their country...
A 3 yr-old kid had fever and was taken to the nearest doctor.

Nestor Makhno is an example for all those who want a free society,not only in Ukraine.

Somehow, his spirit lives in the heart of all those, anarchists or social democrats or whatever, call them patriots, who are fighting against the russian fascist invasion.
 
When in my 20s, I could play a fairly decent - er, a minimum decent rendition of this one : low E down to D. Before the days of arthritis 😏
