Building a wet slab bonsai pot

You should make a YouTube video. Splicing the steps together. I’d like to attempt to make my own pot at some point.

I’d have to learn how to do that and I’d rather make pots. Thanks for the idea!

I second this idea @ABCarve, YouTube is a great way to get your products and the accompanying knowledge out there!!!

I'm working on a YouTube channel for my woodworking business too, so everyone can see how I build the things I build, which will add value to my products and help people better understand their costs...

I’m still undecided on the pot. Just trying new ideas.
This is a commission I'm working on now. Similar technique but in a different order to accommodate the inset panels. Takes two people to flip it over. As it is now it won't fit in the kiln. The width will shrink over 3" after firing and 1.5" in curing to greenware.
How did that look after firing?? Massive pot

I have done commercial videos on woodcarving ca. 1991 "Relief carving in a different light". I'm retired now and I try not to monetize my work fun. It takes all the fun out of it. Good luck with work business!!

Want to build me a pot for free? It will be fun I promise, lol!!!

I love your work man, I'm glad I stumbled across this thread. Keep the pictures coming, I love it all...

Great thread, really enjoyed this. I still don't have my big kiln wired up and vented. I seriously need to do that now there's room in the basement to fire it up.

Guys,

ABC makes a living doing what he does.
Why would he make a video of his techniques ?
Never understood Youtube [ boobtube ] for that.

If down here we didn't already make simple pots,
I would be ordering from him. [ Feb 8 image - Wow !!!! ]
Really beautiful!!!!
Thanks for showing ABC.
Good Day
Anthony

Thanks Anthony. But I don’t make a living doing this. It’s an advocation (hobby). I do enjoy sharing the techniques in that others may take advantage of them. My real career was in the arts and developing processes. I somehow can’t stop doing it.

I saw one like this once before and always wanted to try my hand at it. I love the trees all gnarly at the feet. I used to do a lot of ceramics full time but I have gotten away from it while my kilns were in storage for a couple of years. Beautiful piece. Keep up the inspiring work!
