BonsaiNut 2.0 SUGGESTIONS Thread

I thought I found it in my profile yesterday, but can't find it now... But I used that function a lot, to update my threads.

Hover your mouse over your user name on the menu bar, (upper right corner of page) - choose 'your content' to get a list of every contribution you've made (list starts with most recent).

Otherwise, watch your threads/forums, then you can get a list of just them with a click (left side of menu bar).

IMHO, much nicer than BNut 1.x

I'm sure it is there somehow, but where is the button to "Mark All Read" in the New Posts screen?

Sorry Giga... but right now you have the SCARIEST AVATAR EVER! Do I see a knife?

It's only a grafting knife! But is there a gun?

I just realized how easy it is to read now on my phone!
No more zoom and scroll!

Love it!

Sorce

And the fact that all the photos come up to scroll through!
Perfect for progressions!

Perfect!

In the alerts -is it possible that if you read the posts that the alert for, that it could auto-clear that alert?

It does now for me.

There is a little red tag with the number of new alerts when there are new alerts. It goes away when I look at the listing. The listing itself automatically clears after some time less than or equal to a day. But,

no red thingie = no new alertie.

Simply hover your cursor over your user name (on the menu bar, upper right of page)
And then I can look at my content, but it's only posts, not the threads I've started. There used to be a threads you've started option, that I can't find.

I didn't make much use of that in 1.x, but my solution for this in the 2.0 environment is to watch threads I started. Once a thread is started there is a hyperlink of the words 'watch thread' at the top of every page of the thread - just click it and you're good to go. Then you would just pick 'watched threads' on the Home or Forums menu.

But I watch other threads, it's much easier to page thru just the ones I've started to update them. (I've started a lot of threads) I hope this feature will come back.

Well, you can always bookmark your threads as favorites in your browser.

I cannot help but say that I wonder why one would follow so many threads - are you a thread hoarder?

It's not the most intuitive location, but...

If you pull up your profile page, under the "information" tab you can selection "find all content by..." or "find all threads by..."

So far, the change has turned me off to this site. Maybe I'm just old and don't like change, but I don't like it.

I'm sorry Don, really I am. I know that nothing I do is going to please 100% of our members. If I'm lucky, I'll please 90%, annoy 5%, and really piss off 5%.

It is a steep learning curve, even for me. I've been using the site software for three weeks and I still find myself losing my place, or looking in the wrong spot for a function that used to exist in a certain spot on BonsaiNut 1.0. For me, however, the pain is well worth the benefits - particularly with respect to image management and mobile/tablet accessibility.

I'm not trying to discount your opinion or change it. Rather I want you to understand that I thought long and hard before making the move. The old site software was dead. Some of the elements I used to build it were no longer being supported or updated. I was using duct tape to hold it together. You may remember one year ago I was building the site back from scratch because it had gotten compromised/hacked - due to a security hole in the underlying software. I think we are in a much better place now - but yes, it is confusing and frustrating at times. I hope you will encounter a few pleasant surprises to make up for it.
