Bonsaidoorguy's little Christmas tree entry.

Summer update. The juniper is putting out new growth after a little rehab, whew. The stone pine is doing good, still going for adult foliage.

Too bad. The stone pine was looking good. Nice job on the runner-up too!

Shame about the stone pine. I’ve found them to be freakishly strong. I have one that I pinch like a spruce and it backbuds like crazy. This year I pinched it 3 times, and it just kept pushing.

We are coming closer to the end of the Little Christmas Tree contest. Final photos should be posted in your individual threads, and will be voted on by the general membership starting on April 30.

Time to start thinking about your repotting, final design, wiring, pruning and generally getting the trees in shape for the contest!

Well I still have this tree in my collection. It looks better in person than in pictures I think. Although it looks somewhat more like a garden tree than I would like, I like it, and it has a nice thick base. I may try to thin out the pads to hopefully reduce the pom-pom look of some of them. Any suggestions?

This can tighten the tree and show off the foliage on all planes and show off the lower trunk
