Another day, Another Maple

agree with above... great effort to get it to this stage... and inspiring to see your progression... key word here is taper, which the tree is clearly missing. Valuable lesson for me as I have similar stick in the pot and will be trying to develop similarly to what you do... so great to see progress threads like this. Keep pushing... it's already getting cool and can get only better as time goes on.

hello, i would do clip&grow too

On the pic below, a possible "cut" could have been the red one, but the crown/apex of the branche has been cut, so you have no apex anymore to continue the trunk line.. So maybe cut on the green line, and wire the branche to create a continuity of the trunk line (new apex).
On the pic below the nebari (roots) seems fine and the new trunk line is on the side (clip&grow scar will be on the side not visible), so it is a good choice for a front, IMO.

you could choose to go for a slant style/literati, but a convincing/good literati needs to have a little more tapper on the trunk and a better trunk line imo

Good evolution on branches & cultivation anyway 👍
Thank you Clem, I agree with all of you.
I have also been contemplating last couple of days the idea of cutting where is your green line, I just feel like after my recent styling is just too much for the tree to absorb.
Ideally, I very much like the suggestion from Eugene to try and make an airlyer, at this point I think that If I start an airlyer in spring 2023 I should be able to cut around September 2023 and take it from there.
Thank you all for the feedback.
