Show Us Your Bonsai Benches

Nothing fancy but here are my benches and bonsai spaces. I set up the shade structure today and thought id have room to get all my trees off the ground. That'd be a negative. Will be adding another shelf onto that potting shed somewhere.

Lawn got a hair cut and i weeded extensively, with lots to do still. The blank area in the back left of the picture is where a shed stood and where my new studio will be built. You can see my bonsai area on the far left. I’m going to put monkey poles at different spots around the yard. 249661

Nothing exciting, but simple though for the small trees I have.I get them from Greenhouse Megastore.
A little pricey, but it works out good I can drive some fiberglass stakes through the corners to support some bird netting.Freakin ravenous Jays,Catbirds.....squirrels too.

I've been lucky so far this year with the pests. Even the aphids have been pretty non existant so far. Last year around august my elms were eaten by something so ill be on the look out this year.

One of my tree areas: Crape Myrtles, landscape azalea, black pine, new zeland christmans trees, olive, elms, poms, ficus retusa, willow ficus, coast live oaks, ashe, privet, sheferela, and a san jose juniper. Area gets full-sun 8+ hours a day this time of year.

Quite a contrast from the lush greenery I see in many people yards, but this is the desert I’m dealing with and we’re in peak summer heat.

I couldn’t get everything in even two or three shots, and overall I’ve expanded too quickly to try making anything fancy, so used wood I could find as the benches and construction bricks as supports.
I’m working with a fairly small backyard currently and so have had to make due, though I can’t complain 👌

Boy, I see some good stuff in there... Do I see a Black Dragon Cryptomeria in there? Maybe you have too many Texas Sage, Mexican Mesquite, or Desert Fern and covet some more northerly replacements, Eh? Wanna push your luck ? I have a nice little Seagrape. Any greed hidden in that soul?

Pretty much got my benches and irrigation system all set up, just in time for the newborn to arrive!
Now I basically just need to hand water when specific trees need it, or to fertilize. Makes getting ready in the morning much easier when all I need to do is look out the window and make sure the trees got watered instead of spending 15 minutes dragging a hose around the yard. Plus it was a god-send to set the timer for multiple waterings while I was away on vacation and we hit upper 90°F to 100°F for a couple days. The trees showed no signs of heat stress or drying out, phew! 😅

First one done.
Blocks are leveled for the second one. Just too damn hot to finish the top for the second one!
Try to finish this week.
Thinking of building one only two coarses high for my larger pots.
