Seems we have a special prize donated by a special Nut for One special entrant.
Enter the Contest , and you may be that special entrant!
Sorce

And since noob's never seem to get any honor for having
the guts to enter one of these I decided it would be diff this time.
As soon as it is confirmed by @sorce the newest to bonsai
can have either Morton's book or fifty dollars whichever they
would like.

Congratulations winners! It was fun seeing how everyone styled their trees from what they originally were. Taught me some things and got me to do some things I haven't before.

Ok, I can't get to my submission pics but here's a nighttime shot just before a couple final tweaks and a pic from the next morning with fresh snow on the tree.
image.jpg image.jpg

It makes me happy to have received all the likes. It was really hard to vote based on experience, starting material, transformation etc.., I probably would have given it to pinion myself. Look at that scruffy little shrub he started with, how can anything nice be made of that! Really nice image in the end. Good work all around from everyone.
I am really happy with what I was able to tease out too, no doubt. On purchase all I could really say was there was trunk in there somewhere. The hardest part was the twisting of the fronds with fine wires to lay them flat as well as position them. Wrapping one direction on one, then around the trunk to find it's the wrong direction on the next, things got sloppy here and there. Good practice.

I would like to pick the stickroot prize if that's up for canada? I have a tree in mind for a stickroot pot alright, nice little guy too. I'd be happy to cover shipping.
Thanks, Sorce, sponsors, everyone.

Congrats to all the winners and a big Thank you to Sorce for coordinating it and to the Sponsor's for the great prizes!!! This was a fun way to see the start of some great trees, several of which I wouldn't mind owning and continuing the development of.

So sorry I can't post a photo! As I said, I'm traveling, and, wouldn't you know it, this is the one time I actually used a DSLR camera instead of my phone to take the photos!:eek: Best I can do at the moment is post the link to the contest page. http://www.bonsainut.com/threads/fall-contest-2016-an-honest-balance.24716/ maybe @Bonsai Nut could copy the two front shots to this post.
I'd love to have the Iker pot. Congratulations to @wireme, @sawgrass and the other prize winners. And well-done to everyone who participated! This was a good learning experience for me. Thanks to @sawgrass for some good advice. I definitely wanted to keep working on the image, but had to leave town (for a bonsai course, at least!), and by the time I returned, the tree was already well into fall colors and the foliage was more sparse. Here's a shout out to @tree4me, I think you have a cool image starting there. Thanks again to @sorce and the awesome sponsors!

Sorry I can't read!

IMG_4421.JPG

I hope that one is ok!

Wow! OK?
That's fantastic!

PM me when you can! Be safe on the road!

@sawgrass .....
Take one off the table!

Then somebody might have to go find @Vance Wood !

@M. Frary. Where is Vance?

I don't know about you all....
But seeing who is selecting what is just as delightful as the trees!
