built a frame at the base of the bonsai bench with spare wood to hold the mulch in. Ive started heeling in some trees that have completely dropped their leaves.

When everything is in three sides get wrappef with a shade fabric from eye-hooks on the underside of the table. Worked great last year.

Wired and pruned my Vance Wood mugo.
Wiring is a mess, remembered how much I hate working with large wire but bending large branches requires large wire.

Also started wiring and pruned a couple of branches back on one of my bigger JWP.
After 5 hours working on trees, I was getting tired and couldn't finish this one. Will finish it next week.

Got the Dremel out and cleaned up the deadwood on this tree today, found deadwood that I didn't know it had. Will dig in harder in the spring when I have time to trace the veins better

This was yesterday, but went to the Pacific Bonsai Expo with my 15 yr old son. Got my BNut pin and met Danny Hart @Hartinez in the flesh for the first time. Good to finally meet you, Danny!

I also picked up a collected Colorado Blue Spruce from Todd Schlafer of First Branch Bonsai. I'm looking forward to doing the first styling in my workshop with Adam Toth next month

The third picture is a game of find the Ewok hiding in the Redwood forest accent planting in Jeremiah Lee's @yenling83 display. His Redwood was absolutely amazing!

I have a Spruce worked on this late-july that has been not doing so well. I knew it would be time for a repot this spring, but after we removed about 50% of its foliage mass, it just stopped using water, it rained for 2 weeks straight after the styling, and the root zone became anerobic. I did a top-repot, while also removing the dead and matted roots from the bottom of the rootball. I also poked some holes through the root zone and loosened things up a bit in an attempt to get some more oxygen into the rootzone. I replanted the tree in the same pot with a touch of fresh soil on the bottom, and top. You can see the black rotting sludge I scraped down too in the second photo.nZ1FOmPUQjCwtScFkAYUZQ.jpgOexulGCgTgGIQPSoNpTDyw.jpgLfpNLVchRyi1Ketww3r8fQ.jpg
