What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

My friend purchased this very cool Nyssa sylvatica 'Zydeco Twist' for me for my birthday today, plus made me a cake. We had a great day walking around local nurseries together. She is a very good friend!

I blame @shohin_branches, as I just purchased a Sekka Hinoki, white Chojubai and a training pot from Int’l Bonsai. If I don’t post for a bit, my wife may have had something to do with it….

Photo is a great maple in my neighborhood. Hoping the new trees arrive late next week!

You're welcome! I have a shed with a heater if you need a place to crash 🤣

My Pinus parviflora 'Kobe' and 'Glauca' arrived from conifer kingdom. Graft on the Glauca is unfortunately very high. I might put that one in the ground as a niwaki or try adding a lower graft.

Also some bandages for hard bends.

Technically, my latest purchase were some Nishiki Gawa rough bark maple cuttings from
Piedmont Bonsai but, I will have to wait for those to be shipped out.
However, I did come home to a box containing two more Korean Sweetheart seedlings (Euscaphis japonica) to give me a total of five of these hard to find trees. (At least they are hard to find in my neck of the woods.)FullSizeRender.jpeg

And all this time I thought my local UPS driver just hated me (or plants)!
I think they hate their job.
We get UPS deliveries at work and know our driver well, it's a bit alarming to watch him punch ans kick his way through the truck to find our package...

Good strategy, blaming every thing you buy on someone else. It's almost spring, I'm going to try that. :p
At least those were relatively cheap. Hopefully @yashu doesn't make me buy anything too expensive when we pick up our club soil orders at New England Bonsai Gardens this weekend!

I've never been there before, so it could be trouble (but I'm also a bit adverse to spending a lot on material, I'd rather collect or grow - so maybe not).
