What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

I went back to Home Depot and picked up this #5 sea green juniper at half price, $13. It had a decent single trunk to it and if anything it’s worth it for the practice.

I tried my best not to buy a dwarf Alberta spruce… but… at 75% off here we are. This one has a nice thick trunk on it.

I didn't want one either but my husband said it looked like a "real bonsai" compared to my tropicals.

That's what I said too...then ended up buying one that is a struggle for 2 people to lift for $34.99 that was on clearance. Nursery owner told me they just grow too slow on the farm and he could grow something more profitable in their place, they were maybe 10-15 years old I think he said, maybe 3+ ft tall, 3-4 inches at the soil line. I still haven't done any work on it yet, and still have a small one I bought that was one of my first attempts ar bonsai.

Like any addiction, cheap crack is hard to turn down .

Im a sucker for a sale, too. The hardware store near me doesnt carry anything I like though.
My most recent buy is this JWP off FB auctions for a solid price.

A Beech forest I purchased from Bill Valvanis arrived today. Fantastic packing job and very happy with this purchase. Bill was at the The 50th Gafu Ten Shohin Bonsai Exhibition in Kyoto this past week, lucky Bill, must have been incredible. Here is a link to his blog.

Not a purchase but rather a gift from the good people at Wazakura and @Bonsai Nut via the Haiku contest. They are beautiful stainless steel twig scissors. Something I needed but probably wouldn't have purchased for myself. Shout out to the UPS driver that walked down our long driveway in the cold at 5:15. I guess he was afraid with all of the recent snow that he might get stuck, so he parked on the road and walked all the way down. He even knocked on the door to alert me I had a delivery.
