What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

Besides the two trees I already had bought, I was asked a week later whether I was interested enough in a large zelkova forest to pick that up too for a small price. An offer I could not refuse. But the forest was way to big to fit my car in one piece, so we split it into 2 sections:

Man, those are great! You have a world of possibilities there.
Would you consider documenting them in a thread? I am dying to see the next step.

Thank you. I was happy with them too. Getting a lot of negatives from some people. But well. Their loss?
So far I have started 2 threads about the individual trees I pulled out:

This cool little Parrot Beak from Wigert on Ebay..about an hr ago lol. Had to fight off other bidders nail and tooth down to the last few seconds.

I love mine, might have another little guy on it's way.;) I love Wigert's, but prefer just telling Andrea what I'm looking for rather than the stress of the auctions. Nice tree!

I got my Christmas money early this year, so I bought a bunch of stuff while there were some sales going on. Technically a few separate purchases, but it's all for the same occasion: a garden tote that holds all of my general gardening things and a tool roll that fits inside for the bonsai specific tools, a root rake, rounded concave cutters, two tie-pots, and a copy of Bonsai Heresy; A pair of wire cutters will be replacing the ones I'm returning. I also got a Devinely Blue Deodar Cedar and a little Firefly Heather. Then decided I had to take home the 6 foot Sango Kaku that was on clearance for $50.

I don't remember posting these here, I don't see them here in this thread anyway.

1st is an 'Aoba jo' from eBay, gorgeous foliage
The other 3 from Conifer Kingdom
'Beran'
'Kinpo' - sucks like a Hoover
and a 3g 'Catherine Elizabeth' with a nice graft. Happy with this purchase.

And an apparent cutting or layer of Tsuga canadensis 'Jeddeloh' dwarf. Happy little tree
hope it keeps it smile going :)

The greatest bonsai tool ever is this $8 cake spatula.

It's awesome for getting trees out of pots, and you can even hammer on one end.

But it has another use: breaking into houses. Tonight my kid locked all the doors and I jimmied a window open with this.

Very cool idea.
The repotting use; I hope my house is more secure than that, with all modern double-locking doors and windows

These 2 pots from Mattie O. I have too many blue Tokoname pots already so been looking for diff color glaze pots. First one is Reiho and the other is Yozan.

Please post smaller, more difficult to view pictures!😜

I was wondering if one of those would be helpful to repot trees; now I know the answer and will definitely purchase one and add it to my toolbox. Thanks!

Well shit. I wish I didn't know that. Matt always has a great selection, but shipping to the west coast.... Still worth taking a look.

Last week I took a side trip to Sacramento and Maruyama's nursery on the way to visit a friend in Oakland. I picked up nine Korean hornbeams for a group planting, some mid-size training pots, a few buckets of substrate and Ms. Maruyama threw in two Chinese quince for free.

They have lots of princess persimmon in stock, but I'll wait until spring so I can sex 'em.
