Wanted to trade: Two nice little Maples............

Here we go again, Joe flaunting the trees he's bought. Joe, I'm sorry, but when it comes to this you don't know what you're talking about. Colin is absolutely correct. The age of a tree means nothing, it's the appearance of age that matters.

Yea I bought it, ANNNND, I completely restyled it too by removing branches and completely wiring the entire tree so what's your point other than your jealous that it's better than any Maple that you probably own... Hater!........ BTW, in the battle of appearance of age vs the appearance of a tree that actually is old, especially when it comes to Maples, I'll take the one that's actually old!

Point being, you're mostly just a show-off bystander in this hobby. You buy/trade for trees, come here to brag about your fantastic collection, then get pissy when someone offers you helpful advice.

Yeah, it's better than any maple I own, but plot twist, I don't own any maples. When you're able to develop a piece of raw stock into something noteworthy, then you can come back and tell off the senior members. Until then, you're nothing to this hobby except someone with money he can throw at trees.

Actually the point is that you love to open your mouth almost as much as I love to shut it lol. You're all talk and no tree's, go back to the kiddy park and stay quiet while the adults are speaking:)

Somehow......

We should again bring up Smoke's invitation to Score other, better trees.....

Because while we can go back and forth all day about the age.....
And price.....
It remains subjective.

What will not change is the economics, and horticulture.

Japanese imports cost.
And it is a fact that they are the worst of the worst from Japan.
If not, after quarantine...and death of design, they become problematic.

Smoke himself has been growing tridents long enough to have better material available.....
The entirety of California does!

California has better shit material than Japan sends us......
And without the import costs.....

You just can't argue that.

You also can't argue the $700 price of my "soon to go to market" golden bonsai saw.

It's magic!

Some folks are moved by price.

Artists are moved by trees.

Sorce
Not exactly true, Sorce. It's true that most of the commercial Japanese imports are of lower quality than the ones they keep, but the Japanese bonsai industry is far more extensive than we have here. And their crap is usually better than what we produce here. They've been at it so much longer.

Brussels imported some really nice Maples last year. Expensive, yes. But really nice. Does the design degrade during quarantine? Yes, but maples grow quickly and in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, the design can be easily restored in a year or two.

Trees that would easily bring thousands of dollars here will sell for under $400 in Japan. There's a much, much greater supply.

None of those are better than the 1 I posted and none of those have that nice exfoliating orange bark either! Why, because their not old enough to have it yet lol:)................
Dude. Exfoliating bark is not a sign of age on a trident. My trident had when it was 10 or younger. lol...

Everyone stop lol'ing yourself, its erking me!

I am not sure where My A Went, beecause Im Quite Literally LMAO. . I hope it turns Up.

I can handle the LOL more Than the Random Capital Letters. Whats That About? Its Like Pick a case And Stick with it for Peters Sake. LMAO

farley4.gif This is still going?!?!?;):D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Tucked up here in New England, I can tell you that the "Bonsai Nurseries" up here would slap a price tag on any tree @abqjoe has that would be significantly more than what he paid.
Can't figure out when maybe paying a little more than what others would pay to a person "keepin' the dream alive", so to speak, became a sign of "stupidity"....:confused::confused::confused:

As far as what I posted? Only posted what he said, something he asked for....there it was.;):D:D:D:D:D
I did think it was funny that he thought somebody needed a "choking".....:D:D:D:D

When someone such as @Smoke gives a "heads-up" about an odd look on your Trident...I'll hit the books, not give 'em a wink and think I got this.
Forums die because more experienced people get sick of know it all types that bought shit six months ago and have it all figured out/ "I'll know more than you"....o_O:D:D:D:D:D

:D

I swear to God a few people on this thread need to take up making bonsai pottery. Bonsai potters are the most chill, good-natured people in the bonsai community. You never hear bonsai potters ripping on each other's pottery the way bonsai people rip on each other's trees.

Sweet Jesus, this thread derailed over a handful of curled leaves. Think about how utterly ridiculous this is. Seriously, stop and think about it. If you came across near strangers in a nursery coming to blows over a few curled leaves on a maple...what would you think? I would seriously wonder what's going on in someone's life that would force them to engage in such a ridiculous argument. I'm sick of this thread showing up in the recent posts. Will someone just decide to end it and ignore the other???
