Wanted: Acer Palmatum ‘Seigen’

I can answer this one. The one from maplestone is more like a bonfire. It is not a seigen. I ordered one last year. Thats a picture of mine in spring.
Looks like Seigen to me

This picture is the fall leaf for the maillot Seigen. It is not the spring one. Here you can see the spring color and observe the difference.

This is mine, just snapped the picture.

That looks different than the one i got so yours might be a Seigen mine isn’t.
Yours looks like a seigen to my untrained eye. It looks like the color change of the leaves when they harden off in late spring to me

@Brian Van Fleet, quick question about your new air layers if you don't mind.
The new tree above the air layer is obviously very tall. What do you do with that when you separate the layer? Do you leave it to help with new root production in the new pot or do you also reduce the top down at the same time you separate it?

The plan is to separate the layer in early fall if they root, slip-pot, and do some root work next spring. In summer ‘24 I may make some pruning cuts to the new trunks. The layers were placed so I might have some multi- and single-trunk options with a little movement.

Gotcha, I appreciate it!
When you separate it do you lave the entire top of the tree inact until next year, even if it's too tall?

That’s the plan. More foliage should fuel faster root growth when it’s separated. Just need to secure it tightly in the pot.
