Yours looks like a seigen to my untrained eye. It looks like the color change of the leaves when they harden off in late spring to meThat looks different than the one i got so yours might be a Seigen mine isn’t.

It has been 28f the last couple mornings and windy, so it looks a little zapped from the cold, but here it is.@Brian Van Fleet Can you show us the spring color on your Seigen?

The plan is to separate the layer in early fall if they root, slip-pot, and do some root work next spring. In summer ‘24 I may make some pruning cuts to the new trunks. The layers were placed so I might have some multi- and single-trunk options with a little movement.@Brian Van Fleet, quick question about your new air layers if you don't mind.
The new tree above the air layer is obviously very tall. What do you do with that when you separate the layer? Do you leave it to help with new root production in the new pot or do you also reduce the top down at the same time you separate it?
Gotcha, I appreciate it!The plan is to separate the layer in early fall if they root, slip-pot, and do some root work next spring. In summer ‘24 I may make some pruning cuts to the new trunks. The layers were placed so I might have some multi- and single-trunk options with a little movement.
That’s the plan. More foliage should fuel faster root growth when it’s separated. Just need to secure it tightly in the pot.Gotcha, I appreciate it!
When you separate it do you lave the entire top of the tree inact until next year, even if it's too tall?
Nice!! .
Are you going to be selling? I am interested. I can’t private message you.

It’s may 2023. Just saying. To avoid repeating the mistake of announcing information too early, I will wait to see the results of May 2023 and May 2024 before sharing what I am doing differently with hormone and humidity.
when you take cuttings you don’t see the results of your change in propagation technique the same dayIt’s may 2023. Just saying.
