I didn't mean to come this close to the sample, it just happened. I pray it dries and fires well. The dimensions will end up around 10"X 2 1/4" deep inside.
Darker drowns and lots of toast will come out in the gas, I'm really happy with it and excited!

Yep! I don't have problems getting trees out and saving the pots. Potting knives are made for a specific task.

I am curious...because I don’t know. Are the pots actually in the fire flame? Or is there a shield so the pots only touch the heat and not the flame?

Great question! The flames in the beginning go straight up the walls only just licking the outer wares, but as the kiln gets into reduction and everything inside the kiln is glowing bright white-ish Orange there is not really a flame per say, everything is burning at that point. I leave some wares Ames close to a burner sometimes to get toast in key areas.
