Are you planning on moving any back under protection next week? I'm in a similar position with the buds popping on the maples/etc, and moved them out today. In the past few years I've moved them back in when expecting low 30's overnight, but I'm considering leaving all the pines out this time around (black and red) since it's not expected to go into the 20's by me (but, moving in the maples/zelkova/etc).
At this point, I've only repotted a couple of the pines - I'm waiting til it's a touch more consistent, before doing the more mature trees. However, sometimes I think I've been 'babying' them too much - I've left a red pine and Japanese Maple out all winter, in wood boxes, but on top of the ground with zero protection and zero watering, and they've done just fine over the last ~5 winters here in MI.
Just interested in other perspectives - I've done the shuffle for years, waiting until the grow bed trees bud out before leaving all the trees out all the time.
(also, more context, in general, my trees are in larger pots than needed - i've only a couple that I need to pay attention to, and those are easy enough to manage).
