I have seen some nice ones around . You don’t often see large berberis bonsai because they tend to grow in clumps rather than with a trunk . The autumn colour can be spectacular and they have beautiful tiny flowers . They back bud on old wood to the point that is annoying and can be a little difficult to ramifiy .They make great shohin .How is this species for bonsai? I've been curious about them for sentimental reasons if nothing else. The street I grew up on was Barberry Drive.
Nice tree! Looks good with the pot. Tridents go very red in autumn so I think this will be great.A trident maple I just trimmed back for the first time since we have headed out of winter… the canopy is starting to fill in nicely, will be looking to reduce leaf size once I get a bit more density.
