The Tree Thread

Elsewhere some BNutters are looking for new word to describe American plants in pots. It seems that we do already: most people I talk with say bon - zai as opposed to boh - n - sa - i as Japanese do.

Here's an endemic American azalea, a swamp azalea (Rhododendron viscosum). Soon it will drop all its leaves, then new ones will emerge next spring when it will be covered with white flowers. Great plant for 'bon-zai', IMHO.

here is one of my JBP, showing nice response to decandling this spring. Time to perform fall needle reduction, clean up, selective IMG_1177.JPGcut back and wire for spring. In preparation for the next decandling!
