I finally solved the apex problem my Upright Ondae cork bark pine and I'm happy with it now. The tree is growing well, also.

Elsewhere some BNutters are looking for new word to describe American plants in pots. It seems that we do already: most people I talk with say bon - zai as opposed to boh - n - sa - i as Japanese do.

Here's an endemic American azalea, a swamp azalea (Rhododendron viscosum). Soon it will drop all its leaves, then new ones will emerge next spring when it will be covered with white flowers. Great plant for 'bon-zai', IMHO.

here is one of my JBP, showing nice response to decandling this spring. Time to perform fall needle reduction, clean up, selective cut back and wire for spring. In preparation for the next decandling!
