The Shohin Tree Thread

My first foray into shohin presentation, at the Atlanta Bonsai Society 2017 spring show. Top right shimpaku juniper in pot by MCsquared, bottom right goji berry in Tokoname pot, bottom left red chojubai in Tokoname pot. Stand by Jerry Braswell.

I don't have any stands or display boxes. Or even a backdrop - other than the side of my shed. But here's a crape myrtle in a Sara Rayner pot.

Nice tree. Here are couple of work-in-progress Berberis on the bench this morning. Pots are Erin (left) and Walsall (right). Very raw rose clump in the background.IMG_0239.jpg

Shohin Corkbark Black Pine, ‘Hachi-gen’. Shibakatsu pot. Working toward a smaller pot one day...

This is a wonderful little tree. I have a picture of it you posted a couple of years back saved on my laptop, in a note labelled 'shohin pine inspiration'.
This little Scots pine - again a work in progress - is not a direct copy, but has certainly been influenced by your work.

I was playing around with displaying trees with instruments and this is my shohin Mugo Pine in front of a Bodhran, a traditional Irish drum. The pot is not well represented in this picture but it’s a beautiful Sam Miller that suits the tree well, with a few subtle orange streaks in the glaze that pick up on the winter foliage color.
