The cooking thread

Fresh tomatoes from the garden, slices of onions, "feta" (ewe cheese), black olives (from the supermarket), boiled eggs (from a neighbour's), basil, "Balsamic vinegar" (from Italy), olive oil, salt and pepper and fresh baked "baguette" - not the square bread you toast when in Britain

Good, healthy salad.

I also have some pork fillet that I will cook with onions, honey (when the honey melts down on the onions, it's - hmmmm), sage, a bit of lemon juice, laurel, thyme and a couple clove of course.

I should make a video, or at least take some photos, but I don't have the time, I spend too much time on the internet 😄

Getting more into fermenting. Here we have sauerkraut, jalapeño and veggies that will eventually be hot sauce and honey garlic.

I would add some anchovy fillets.

I don't really anchovies we get here, the salted ones.

When I went to Sicily, I had some fresh ones, with many other fish and shellfish, and fresh vegetables. And pasta alla vongole, and many other excellent food.

I never crossed the Atlantic, I've been to quite a few countries in Europe and east and south of Europe, I still think that French cuisine is one of the best, if not the best in the world, but Sicilian food is certainly the healthiest and one of the tastiest I've ever tried.

And all the people I met there, all of them, were so friendly...

Tutto bene ;)

the salted ones
That's the ones I meant, in the cans. You only need a couple. Funny story, I thought I needed some anchovies on a tomato salad when I was pregnant. My mom warned me......I threw up almost immediately and didn't eat them again for years.

Now that sounds like a plan and BTW I'm cooking 2 NY Strips, Cheesey Potatoes & small salads, I'll skip the details ....
Enjoy👍

Nothing much to do this weekend, no where we can really go so I made canneloni. The store was out of manicotti shells, so I used eggroll wrappers. Simple tomato sauce, parmesan garlic cream sauce and cheese. I had a salad for lunch. ;)canneloni sat.jpgcanneloni sat2.jpgcaneloni oven.jpg

Just burgers, but it's great to have a nice warm evening in October. Especially after having our first frost yesterday. burgers.jpg
