@Bonsai Nut , the Loop died today. The contract to run the station was bought out of Bankruptcy Court by a right wing christian media group. One of the other stations in Chicago did a tribute by playing some of the local bands they introduced. The played Off Broadway, Survivor and others.

In the early sixties, I was about 5-6 years old, and we didn't have a TV set at home. But there was a neighbour up the street, my friends'granpa, who would watch the 30-minute weekly programme on the only black and white channel on tghe only TV set in the whole neighbourhood.

Strange to think it's been twenty-four years since Kurt committed suicide. I was not a rabid fan back in the day, on first listen I thought it was Megadeth, and they decided to go a little more mainstream. Obvious talent but the catalogue needed some "mileage".....but in hindsight, you can clearly see Bowie-level talent. Gotta' stay away from that hard shit man.
