Personally I think the whole like/dislike thing is a bit silly.

The people on this forum are like a pack of wolves when it comes to calling BS on misinformation. When it comes with a rational explanation as to why its BS, then its good feedback, much better than a stupid like/dislike function.

FWIW I liked it better when it was a "Thank You" instead of a like. Seemed more meaningful to me.

did you know that studies show a Facebook "like", or any various form of social media notification, has been equated to the level of satisfaction that a nicotene user gets from a smoke? people get the same emotional response and gratification to the notifications as a drug. to my generation, a like means more than a thank you.

a dislike button would create arguments. remember that rule, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all? that is the reason why the feature is not implemented into large social media sites. youtube is a different situation because youtube partner's are paid based on the amount of views and subscribers; think of the thumbs up/down as ratings. with the amount of egotist on this forum and others, the poster who received the dislike will check and see the user's who clicked that button and sooner or later will have a personal vendetta against them.

for example;

User A dislikes a post made by User B. User B will be offended by User A. User B will see a post by User A and dislike it out of spite. The cycle goes on and on until it gets verbal. Then a mod needs to step in and clean up the mess. It's a hassle.

This is priceless, I made a comment about this last sentence by Paradox being a gem. I did not mean it like it was brilliant, I meant it sarcastically like read it again and think about it. Now remember....you can always go back and take your like back, just in case anyone gave me a like for that comment erroneously....bwahhhahahaha

Just crusin around , unwound this thread beginning to end. I'm so glad this place never really Changes.
As my short fast paced experienced has progressed I have definitely gotten quieter on here, mostly due to beige too busy either actively growing, caring for something growing, learning about something growing, or even dreaming about growing things(last week I dreampt a conversation with someone about the potential of Tuja Japonica in bonsai. . .yeah it's bad). The other reason for my rescission in contribution is due to the fact that horticulture is very similar to being an auto-tech in that the more you learn, it quickly becomes painfully apparent how little you actually know. That's why the quiet techs always turn out to be the best, enough sole and you learn to shut up. Anyways. Hope I never gave any seriously shitty advice though I'm sure I did. Being ADHD (can't tell u how bad I wish I woulda grown out of that one) I tend to talk to Much. Loose lips sink ships, I just hope my careless fingers didn't contribute to dead trees.
