Stoned...

Gotta be honest... a good portion of the design seems to be spurred by concept and conversation in YOUR mixed forest thread... i was thinking about the levels.. and flow..

Then I got to thinking about the crazy, multichambered pots I USED to make out of local clay.. before I was even CORRECTLY firing pieces.

I haven’t seen a mink this far south, we have otters though.
I don’t really mind sharing a chicken with the wildlife once in a while. I’m a vegetarian so they help keep the flock in control, I kind of think of it as rent on the land, but this girl must have a bunch of pups. We were loosing at least one chicken a day, plus she was taking rabbits.
she seems to have alien down, and is being cautious, I haven’t seen her in days.
maybe they are moving on.

Oh hell yeah!

Taking a chicken or egg isn’t a real “offense”... They hunt when they’re hungry.. it’s what animals do. If i’m raising their food, it’s to be expected.

They WON’T, however, kill if they are not hungry... that’s... a gross, human thing. ;)

I awoke in the night, trace lines still burnt in from Astral plane...

Attempting to represent the shapes and ideas present there..

About 50 percent there...View attachment 411997
This particular piece evokes feelings of a dry rocky climate for me. Perhaps New Mexico or the Badlands. Very cool.
When the Astral plane inspires you in a similar way again, consider me very interested!

@penumbra I'd love to see pictures once you plant it!

So I pulled out some “Trail Mix - Dark Chocolate” that I had gotten from @mwar15 , to “take it for a spin”...

It is BY FAR my most favorite clay for structures (currently), THANK YOU! It’s range seems SO versatile..

And although I ALSO tried out some new techniques on this piece that I do not like, and will never perform again, I am proud of it. However, I don’t PERSONALLY like it.. so It will probably sell cheap. 🤣

Here we are..

Dammit! You're having entirely too much fun. So how much is that last little shed going to be? I'd love to oxide wash that one too.

Why don't you move your family down here to the Shenandoah Valley and we can collaborate on a business venture.

I’ll consider them BOTH yours, friend! We will worry about unimportant specifics such as price/malarkey a tad later..

I’m ACTUALLY getting more and more excited about our collaborative arts as I think about it...

Is the world ready?

...it better GET ready!

I feel, that between all of us here, on BNut.. We are producing, currently, what will be considered (in retrospect) as the realistic starting/“face change” of North American-Style Miniaturized Trees in containers! 🤪

We’ll... have to “workshop” the name.

🤣🤣

Penjing is a style invented by the Chinese and based on Chinese aesthetics
Saikei is a take on Penjing based on Japanese aesthetics
What will the North American take on Penjing/Saikei be called. I feel like it should have it's own name.

Treescapes.

I mean, penjing and saikei are just the Japanese and Mandarin words for what North American English speakers would manufacture a word like treescapes to describe.

Treescapes, is IN reality, the most logical name...

It isn’t supposed to sound exotic to north americans! 🤣🤣

I’ve used “stonescapes” for North American rock plantings...

I like “TreeScapes”... with a groovy font. 🤪🤪🤪🤪
