That can be a difficult question as evidenced by the lengthy recent discussions, which usually seem to come to the conclusion of you know one when you see one, and even then opinions differ.
To my eye this is close. The trunk is very elegant, the arrangement of foliage less so. maybe a little less foliage and at more varying heights, with that all-important triangular profile suggested somewhere. And lose those jins before someone hurts themself! A more literati-appropriate pot would help also. Really tho, I love this trunk! It could be a beautiful tree! You’ve already done a lot of good development.

About those jins, waiting the right time to shorten it out with some detail. In a mission to find the right Pot at the moment(still giving the tree some space to grow btw).
And as the tree grows and compact, by trimming, only then can differentiate or variant the height/level on each sub branch apex to form a group of a bigger smooth triangular shape.

I really like the trunk and taper in this tree! Also a nice bark on it.
Ive gotten a literati on my bence and we took it apart last spring. What the peeps who know stuff told me, it was to tall and all the branches were moving upwards (like yours). An old tree has his branches moving downwards (weight of the leaves).
What we did, and what you might consider, is bend the top downwards. From the highest deadwood, so the deadwood is the new top and this make a smaller tree

It looks like you’re using aluminum to wire. Here’s a hint: it’s too small to be effective. Even if it were copper, it’s too small!
To be effective, wire has to be strong enough so that once you bend the branch into position, it stays. Period. It’s no good if you have to bend it further than you really want because it relaxes back into position.

This tree break easily, way too easy and it hardent fast...if you missed that 'perfect window' to bend it, it will be hard to do a big adjustment on it. And i missed alot of the opportunity to wire it earlier. I would describe this tree fragile as " a dry stick " . Brittle.

I wish i have the courage to bend it that hard and become something watchable but the tree is too brittle..i break some twig everywhere(sub branch for its size)
I only got this 1 tree for literati, I rather have 1 simple soft look literati than a fail creative wanna be tree(tree limitation problem). guess i took the easy path

I think you need to have someone show you how to properly apply wire and then use that wire to build pads. Your wiring isn’t awful, I’ve seen far worse. But there little subtle things you can do with the wire to help prevent breaks. And, it helps to be wiring in the proper season. Fall is best. And using organic fertilizer seems to keep the branches from being too stiff.

re potted this early Feb. disregard the pot. i cant' find a suitable pot for it yet. Maybe another month or two, i will do some adjustment on the pad position. finger cross the branch wont break.
