SI have decided to go back into bonsaiNut seclusion.ee ya guys.

Elon musk aye? What videos? Dude honestly creeps me out a little... watched his A.I. video with Joe rogan. When you watch him speak, you will notice how intensly his mind works, he analyses and calculates his words each and every time before he speaks. Mad respect for him though, dudes a genius. Always thought it was funny he only had to get a hole digging permit to build those tunnels in CA.

I think he plays up the "deep thought" to seem profound.

I think if we picked his brain, it wouldn't backbud.

Speaking with limited information.

The MEME with the electric car being charged off a gas generator says it all.

I believe our future is off earth.

I believe our past is too.

I believe it doesn't matter most.

More silence is Louder.

Human Bodies are Temporary.

My dad too. Then both legs above the knees. He went through 3 weeks of brutal rehab at 80 years old, and died from pneumonia a month later. How messed up is that?
My sister has now had all toes on both feet amputated. Several other issues also. Developing vascular dementia now. Diabetes is horrible!

It is a horrible disease. So sorry about your sister. They say it skips a generation, but that has not proven true in my family. My grandpa had it as well as my dad and his brother.

I’m sorry to here that. Not sure about my grandparents- I should ask.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

Reality check...Thanks 😉
In the end we all should report to ourselves regularly. I'm a over sensitive person to. No changing that...we're all made the way we are for a reason, I believe. Even the smallest of things makes an impact on the soul.
@Smoke no harm no foul. I wish you well on your travels....and if you do return, well try again ;)

I'm not sure if I was writing that for @Smoke... or for myself.

These are trying times for just about everyone, for one reason or other... or two reasons, or three!

I have decided to go back into bonsaiNut seclusion. This is not a place I wish to post work to any longer, and in fact if it was in my power I would remove everything I have ever posted here. The forum is not capable of removing the person from the work, and the truth hurts people, I can understand. If you are unable to take a look at your self from my perspective and take the things I post with the intent written, I get it. This place is supposed to be about bonsai, bonsai work, not words or help me or what can I make from this. Look around, there are plenty of places to see bonsai, look at your plant, does it have the bones to make a bonsai, then throw it away when you actually see the difference. Stop busting everyone's chops with the pathetic dieing plants. Anyway I've already said too much, feelings are being hurt as I write....the truth....again!

Maybe I will see you at a show, I'll say hi.
Smoke

I go into seclusion from this site from time to time. Nobody knows me, nobody cares...whatever. But one time I went into seclusion was specifically because of a Smoke post. Here is the post where I called out Smoke's BS and said I was done with this site: https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/treeblers-verses-taters.37852/page-6#post-638797.

And here is the gracious response from Smoke himself: https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/treeblers-verses-taters.37852/page-6#post-638839

I think sometimes people confuse respect and credibility. Credibility is earned through work and dedication and results. I will grant that Smoke is credible...he's proved his capabilities and knowledge time and again. Respect is something different. Respect is given...not earned. There is nothing I can do to prove someone should respect me. I am only respected when others bestow that honor upon me. It is possible to be credible and not respected. Assuming that one should be respected because one is credible is egotistical.

That said, Smoke, I will gladly treat you with the same respect you gave me just over one year ago:

Know what you mean. In the end it's for everyone I think. Not easy to live by it...it's a daily thing. We all fall, get up, and then fall again....😉
Much like my bonsai journey 🤪

Yep couldn't agree more mate. It's ALL about respect !!!
Also...if you leave here (because of a member), you're actually the one loosing out. Smoke (and the same with each individual member here) is a bonus, not a necessity. There's a wealth of knowledge here, and although it heats up from time to time, this place is a fantastic tool to further you bonsai journey. There's always the ignore function. It can makes things simpler for you...if you choose to.

I mean, we post because we ARENT bonsai artists, but some of us want to be. So pictures of dying plants and "what can I make outta this" type posts are us just trying to become better. Or at least thats what I want from my posts like that.

I think there is a need for two entirely different forums: One in which those wanting to learn and improve can ask questions and get advice, and one in which more experienced bonsai practioners can share their work and thoughts at a higher level. The problem is that when the two groups are mixed together each group frustrates the other...

Also...if you leave here (because of a member), you're actually the one loosing out.

I've stated it before, but this is false. I am loosing very little. There is a ton of collective knowledge from this forum that shows up in just about any google search related to bonsai whether I am an active member or not. That's really the only reason I ever return...the forum is old enough and popular enough that it's actually quite difficult to avoid without a lot of intention. So what am *I* loosing, exactly? Yet another post telling me to chop lower? Belittlement by the elite?

When I choose not to be active, the forum looses *my* knowledge and experience. There's no google search that posts what I choose not to share. Just because I choose not to share does not mean I am knowledgeless.

It is sad to see people with knowledge leave the forum. As such, it is sad to see you leave. That being said..

It is sad to see people leave the forum and making a big poeha out of it.

If you do not like it here, leave. But do not try to guild-shame people on the forum in the process. Stop busting everyone's chops.

So, why are you even posting? As you’ve stated on this and other threads, you’re a lurker, gleaning ideas, inspiration, knowledge, etc from those of us who do post our trees, our experience, and our knowledge. As such, as I stated before, you’re a “taker”. You take from the forum.

And, to the best of my knowledge, your sole contributions have been complaints about a poster who does provide ideas, inspiration, and shares his trees for all to see. Maybe you don’t like his writing style, he doesn’t owe you anything. (I don’t like the fact you mis-spell the word “lose” consistently. Once or twice, I can understand. We all make typos or have autocorrect change stuff. But you’ve made that mistake repeatedly, and it’s annoying.)

It’s just ironic that a lurker is complaining about a guy who posts information.
