I believe yellow is the normal color of birch leaves. As chlorophyll moves out of the leaves in the fall it reveals the true leaf color. Caveat; if the leaves are coming out yellow or turn yellow when it’s not fall you could have an iron deficiency. I had one turn yellow in spring and had to emergency repot because I’m dumb, but it survived. My air layers went yellow right after I cut them off, but they also survived. Are the local river birch trees going yellow? I have a bunch of birches and they all turn at pretty much the same time so I have something to gauge their individual health.Noob question. Do the leaves on a River Birch turn yellow in the fall or do I have another issue?

Good question. I've seen some trees changing on my drive to work, mostly maples, gonna have to swing by the river soon & check it out. Thank you.I believe yellow is the normal color of birch leaves.
