Not so much growth, but nice color instead, I hope that next year will bring more shoots in this one.

Cheers.

Update 12/12/2020

This wound is doing really well

This graft doesn't look bad either

Unfortunately the airlayer didn't work, but the branch is still alive, I wish I had better luck next year.

At the base of the branch there is another wound that needs a little bit of care.

And this wound looks on the correct way too.

One picture is better than a thousand words, but a video is better that thousands of pictures, so here you have:

Update 20/03/2021 great spring colors in the shoots

You did the graft from the cutting as shown on the cover of the first video? Does that have any chance of taking? Have you ever done it this way before and achieve success?

Yes, I did.

Does that have any chance of taking?
Maybe, or maybe not.

Have you ever done it this way before and achieve success?
No, this was my first attempt.

And so far, so good....

Amazing progress, and in only 3 years. This makes pissing in the wind look productive and desirable.

Well, not really such improvement, there is still too much to do, but I enjoy the way.

This makes pissing in the wind look productive and desirable.
:rolleyes:I am not sure to understand the meaning of your words, but thanks for the comment, anyway.

Cheers.

I give you tons of credit for labor and technique!

...but it seems to me a lot of work to try to fix root stock on a grafted tree(?) I go back to @JudyB 's comment of three years ago. If this tree were mine, I would probably do the exact opposite of what you are doing. I would let the top grow freely, and then when it was really strong I would air-layer the entire upper part of the tree and toss the root stock. I am worried that you will spend another ten years working on this tree, and still end up with a poor nebari and notable grafting lump at the bottom of the trunk.
