Great to hear. The cuttings I got from you are just starting to flower. One beautiful bloom opened on ‘Dad’s White’ yesterday, and the Gumpo is getting close. I put several in the ground so they’ll trunk up. Very exciting.Awesome! The cuttings that I got from you are coming out nicely, too.
Congrats, Kinsai are tough to find. The only work I’ve done with the Neagari has been to gently pick away at the dead stuff inside the “cage” of roots using tweezers. It still has a ways to go, but it’s an enjoyable tree, even though I’m generally not a huge fan of the style.Spectacular tree! In all seasons!
Did you do anymore root work to the neagari after you got it?
After a few years of searching I finally found someone with Kinsai cuttings myself![]()

I’ll watch and see what the connecting twigs have, and then remove only as far back as I need to eliminate branches with fat flowers.Gorgeous. Looks like a reversion on one of them? Do you take the whole branch off when you get one of these or just the twig the bloom is on?
Thank you, I have a Kegon that tries to revert...I’ll watch and see what the connecting twigs have, and then remove only as far back as I need to eliminate branches with fat flowers.
Thanks. Yes new stand is from the Stone Lantern in Highlands, NC. They’re closing up shop and selling everything for what it should have cost to begin withIt has filled in nicely since you purchased it. Is that a new stand?
Blooming almost all year...a bit unusual for sure. Stunning tree Brian.Blooming soon...first buds are showing. This thing bloomed almost all year last year. It was cool, but a little concerning.
