Hi Nuts, I have a Rose of Sharon I repotted this spring. It pushed very well. Recently the leaves have started to yellow. It appears new leaves are the most susceptible to whatever is going on. Can somebody please help?

My first thought when I saw it was iron chlorosis but the closer photo possibly could be some kinda fungus infection like you'd see in cherry 
..

I used Biogold this spring but have backed off now. I have treated with Bioadvanced 3in1 a few weeks ago prior to our high humidity season.

biogold is a 5/6/3 mix I don't know if it has iron but it is supposed to be a time release fertilizer... At my job we tend to recommend a 19/8/10 fertilizer might just be my environment tho and it's certainly not a bonsai focused fertilizer... I've used bio advanced in the past and honestly wasn't a fan, had to use a systemic but again might be a particularly me problem... I'd get some iron fertilizer on it just to be sure that's not the problem.
I'd also make sure your soil is well draining (if you can pop the plant out without digging and see if you can spot roots, if the soil is too wet you'll know)
Maybe add a little acidity to the soil? Not sure about your area but I know they like slightly acidic soils
I've seen a lot of people online struggle with rose or Sharon but yours isn't looking too bad yet so hopefully it's just a little bit of fertilizer problems and not a fungal thing.. I would pick all of the yellow leaves off to prevent any possibility of fungal spread just to be safe

Why do you call it Rose of Sharon when its clearly a species of Hibiscus? Rose of Sharon usually is the colloquial name for Hypericum!!
Over the pond difference. In America Rose of Sharon is a colloquial for Hibiscus syriacus.

Alway best use the botanical names to avoid confusion!! I suspect some growers are rebranding plant names to get more sales!

Well rose of Sharon dispite being a hibiscus is better suited to some environments for landscaping then others, it's mainly ornamental as opposed to other varieties of hibiscus. That's why we differentiate it, but you are correct botanicals are always the most effective way to ID

Beautiful!! I'd probably deadhead it to conserve energy but it truly is a wonderful piece

by “dead head” do you mean removing the unopened flower buds before they open? Or do you mean after the flower starts to whither? Because it is about to be in full bloom with about 30 flowers

They are a bulletproof species. Can sulk...but recover.
I had a tornado throw my potted tree off a story high deck onto our lawn. The leaves all went yellow. Then fell off...and recovered just fine. Though that was tropical. But these are just tough. A friend had a hardier cultivar and pulled it out put in a cement drive. The drive cracked and up sprang that darn tree.
Black spots make me think possible fungal as well. Unless you've aphids...that can do weird things as well on them for foliage. But I wasn't looking for pest to be honest. As I'm on my phone.
I don't know I would permit a tree showing signs of health issues. To waste energy on blooms. If you are determined to allow it to bloom. Then remove at least half them and don't permit a full on flush. That's how I would handle it.
