Rose bonsai?

I love them! Saw a couple of good ones up for sale on Facebook this past year. I got mine from Mirai two years ago. Very old and gnarly. It even has lichen growing on it. They must be trimmed back yearly otherwise their health will decline over time. I know @Colorado has a beautiful one as well.

There was a VERY nice one at this year's Shohin show that had two blooms open during the show. It was excellent. I can't find a picture of it, but I know I took one.

Here it is.

On the web page http://www.magiminiland.org/Days/Kokufutenb.html#Photos you'll find this image captioned "Kokufu Prize, 2013: Semi-cascade style White Japanese rose (Rosa rugosa alba)"
It’s sublime in person.....

Pretty convincing!

Not me, wish I could say I did :)

I believe that one belongs to Shannon Salyer. By far, one of the best I've seen. Almost looks like a Chinese elm.
It's Shannon's. It looked so much better in person than my phone was able to capture.

This is exquisite M5. Very ''wild'' Is it a mutiflora? How hard do you prune it back each year? Dimensions?

Thanks Michael. Yes it is a multiflora and about 7" tall from soil level. I prune it back pretty hard in the fall. Compare the first fall pic to the second bare one. This keeps the rose vigorous for the following year.

Here's one that I'm trying this year. It comes from a pot of them that I got from my grandmother's when she passed. I needed to repot them so I pulled one out. A little leggy but after the blooms I'll prune back and hopefully get another flush a little tighter.
