Repotting procedure for procumbens

I'm seeing conflicting advice on root pruning junipers for repot.
Seems more are advising chopping bottom rather than pie cuts into root mass.

For any conifer in compacted soil and overdue for a repot, I always consider a half bare root as a possibility. If the tree is growing well and has a good rootball, remove an appropriate amount of roots and soil from all sides.

Pretty much a similar process. Take off media all around the sides and bottom and trim roots… up to 1/3ish. Then aerate the remaining root ball if compacted.

Once decent feeder roots in about two years. Next repot work out media in the root ball. Trim circling roots if needed

Soji as needed. Personally haven’t needed to do soji in the two year span on a juniper with this process.

Pretty much a Mirai process. Both work.
