Hello, I have a ginseng ficus that has really outgrown its container. Most of the roots occupy the small container and leave no room for soil. It has just recently started to lose some leaves and other have curled upwards. It has been extremely wet the last week, so the plant is starting to look better, but I have some good bonsai soil and a new (bigger) growing container. I will be bringing the ficus indoors in the next couple weeks. I have been so busy lately I haven't given much attention to it! Please let me know if repotting is going to be okay. Thank you!

Hi there,
normally the repotting should be fine. You could work on this kind of tree yearlong and they are basically bulletproof.

I have killed several trees by cutting off the roots during times when I should have waited.
Yes you can work on ficus anytime of year. But it is best to wait for early summer. The time when you would put your ficus outside. For me it's early June.
Good luck.
