Pigletts Progress

I did a clip light from above and to the side and one from behind the camera and to the other side. Lighting was the same for each photo, but from a little different distance. Not sure what distance either of those are from, I'm just happy that I'm getting some better pictures. I can see what you mean, but not sure what I did to get the better shot. I'm working on learning though. I saw your black background shot, and decided to try it.

Great job Judy! Very powerful tree that's reminiscent of an old oak tree. WP would be proud! :D I am hoping to get a monster like this (perhaps an oak) in the future.

mmm an oak. What kind are you thinking of? You don't see many oaks in bonsai on this side of the country, wonder why? I love some of the cold climate oaks, maybe it's a leaf size thing. White oaks are so nice.
ThanksM!

Eventually it will come off on it's own, don't know if I want to hasten the process.
In an ancient forest Dave, I see that too.

No specific oak Juds... it just has that look. Keep it! Yes white oaks are really nice. Not too sure why some oaks are not more popular. Jay Wilson (a member here) recently sold a bunch of his willow leaf oaks. He had a huge one that was amazing! I jumped on it but someone here beat me to the punch! Lucky *%#@**

I think from now on,my lack of posts on this thread will express my speechlessness!

Great photos, funny someone said WP would be proud, with the background and good photos, I thought, "Damn this could be on WP's Blog!"

It looks great in the pot and wired!

Can't wait to see a midsummer shot!

Looks like several of us must have thought the same thing. It definitely has a Walter Pall progression feel. Awesome tree and awesome work so far Judy!

Thanks Daygan, hope you are well! Good to see you in the USA!
Thanks, Judy. That means a lot to me :) I'm glad to be in the U.S. too - and really enjoying the most amazing climate I've ever experienced in any place that I've lived before.

I've missed seeing you around, you'll have to share some of what you are doing these days!

Calling this tree piglet is kind of like naming an elephant "Tiny". That is one full grown boar of a tree! Awesome work and material Judy.

Daygan, I don't think it gets any better in the U.S than San Diego, CA. You picked a good one.

Very nice Judy! In my opinion I'd like to see this monster with a large canopy. Beautiful setting as well! ;)

Nice, all the way around...pot, nebari, setting too. Our redbuds were done a month ago. Always too quick.

I agree with @MACH5 - a large canopy on this will make for a really majestic looking tree :)
