Non Bonsai tools and stuff for Bonsai

I use an old kitchen colander (with a very fine mesh) to sieve out the dust of my substrate.
Someting like this model of Ikea.

I don't use cut paste very often but found that plumbers putty works pretty good if thats all you have.

Doesn't work as well as I'd like, but I have used this more than anything else.
Trying the wood glue on a gardenia now, whoever it was that suggested that.
Up here we use Timber Rattlers... For clearing dense swamp brush/shrubs/thornbushes.

I'll get a picture of my "car knife"
🤣

The rest of us just call it a Bowie knife. Also nice for cooking and fighting Mexicans for Texan sovereignty.

I'll get a picture of my Bowie Knife (named Dave) next to the rattler.

The tree bible hands down . Best non bonsai book . Great for identification of trees . Covers propagation . Popular cultivars . Slanted to North American trees but covers . Most trees possible you could find in gardens . Europe orient . Very confident I have spent way more time reading this then any bonsai book I have . Great tree resource

Wait... What business do Texas Colonists have telling Mexicans where to go?

I got THIS.... For those kind of altercations.
NOW I think you need to learn more about that little bit of history. There were more brown people defending the Alamo than white.

For Canadians looking for granular diatomaceous earth, Canadian Tire has 20 lb bags for $20 of Qualisorb. This stuff is 100% diatomaceous earth, unlike another similar product that contains clay. The size of the particles is borderline though about 1/8" mostly.
Also, Grainger carries clinoptilolite, a type of zeolite sometimes called chabuzi (if you know you know) Though this stuff is green unlike the bonsai stuff in Quebec, the US or even Europe. The product is called ecotraction pro 20 kg for $36.29 or you can by it by the tote. Gets used in winter for ice traction. This stuff is the perfect size too, mostly around 3/16-1/4" ish. Not many fines either. So far Ive only been using it a year (in BC) but I like it and will be getting more soon while its still available.

Great to meet a fellow Canuck . You should put your location in your bio . Check the qualisirb I get it also . I’m a auto tech so work gets it for me . Anyway sone is DE some has been fuller earth . Better now fuller seems to have been a Covid supply concern . I tried it not saying it was terrible but it breaks down over time compared to DE . Thanks for the tip in the other stuff I have not seen that . Also Home Hardware apparently has a traction aid ( enviro friendly ) product that is pumice but I have not found it to report on size

These are Indian cooking tongs. Pakkad is the name I think. They are great pliars, stainless steel and only a few bucks(6-10 on amazon). Mine stay together once you close them with a tight fit. 20230202_132109.jpg20230202_132122.jpg

I think he mentioned it in a video. I had forgotten about that. Probably a "tool review" video.
what do you use them for . Seem weak compared to say pliers . Not saying anything negative . Just curious . Very similar to blacksmith tongs . My knife making buddy . Would like them
