My Tiniest tree, What are you trying that's new??

I suppose you wait for a seedling to ‘harden off’ before you can trim it, or do you just cut back annually since it’s doesnt grow a whole lot if it lives in a tiny pot?

I picked up these two Ulmus parviflora "Hokkaido" in April. I picked up two since the price was so reasonable. I decided to hard prune one today and leave the other in case the pruned one didn't respond well.

My biggest concern is how to winter these little trees. I may keep them in the garage where it tends to stay above freezing most of the winter, but still chilly enough to keep these dormant.20180722_221838.jpg

This one has been growing and changing a bit. I repotted as it had surprisingly little root growth in the last substrate.
