I worked the tree for 5 years on the mother tree starting with a healthy spring shoot. They grow so fast here (shoot will grow 6' + in one summer) a few times it got away from me and there are some thicker branches than i would have liked. I have 2 or 3 in the works about 1/2 the size of this one for work Early next spring-
Here in hot Tucson plenty roots in 2 months with auto drip running. Used a plastic bowl supported by L brackets screwed to the trunk, worked great. As the layer was up on a long bare trunk I cut it off and brought it down and clamped it in the saw horse to work on it. Slipped the bowl down and cut off the rest of the mother. Potted up now 5 days in 100F heat, shade, misting and no signs of stress. Largest by far that I have tried but never had a failure with the Pyros so developed this one and gave it a go.
