My Cold (Green) House

Sweet set-up for sure. Dormancy work is no doubt a joy.

I have new thermostats for my heat mats and my cooling fan and heater. I have found that digital is more accurate than rotary knobs that were on my previous ones. Here's a link to them.

Wow my greenhouse is much fuller right now than last year! Just had to move in as we had freeze warnings all week. I like them to get frosts first before allowing them to see temps that low, and also I'd like to get some fall color.... if the leaves get hit with too cold first then it's all over.

If my wife ever gives up on pottery maybe I can claim her shed and have a nice place like that. The good part is she makes me bonsai pots for free!

Amazing set up! Thanks for sharing & updating.
Wish my hubby was an enabler too... :p

This is "my" cold greenhouse at my friends' place near Fredericksburg. I'll have to take photos of their set up inside when I take a couple of trees down at Thanksgiving when my overwintering dance begins. The vents are a very important for this region (and probably others). Inside on a warm February day, temperatures can climb into the 70s or even 80s if outside air isn't circulated through. Even so, I still get a two or three week jump on spring growth with my oak stored here.

That's nice, in my next version, I will have long vents like those. Mine are fine for this narrow house, but bigger is better... sometimes, LOL...
Do they have a chiller unit? I see that white thing next to it..

I don't think this greenhouse has a chiller.

I think the white thing is a padmount power transformer--on the end of the power line pulled off the line from the main house. This is in a pretty remote rural area.

Thanks for the tip @JudyB about the digital temp controller. I ordered the 15amp one. I've never liked the built in one on my heater. Plus I can run a back up heater on the other outlet. Been wanting to find something a little more reliable.
