Better put your BC into dunk tank.Only In the 80s here in PA, with lows in the 60s, but still hotter than usual, still not close to you guys. We had a 90 degree day here, and I wasn’t home to water my trees, and my buds on my BC almost died out. However air quality is in the late 200s in and around Pittsburgh. It’s been code purple for a few days, and smoke is visible in the air and smelled when you go outside. It’s almost like a fog.
That I did do now. The buds now are a few inches out now and are doing well with keeping the soil thoroughly drenched all the time.Better put your BC into dunk tank.
I started to think nothing can be grown here in a pot without some shadeMakes me rethink the old "FULL SUN" adage.
Top, pots, shelves.
You're forgetting the part where we get blasted with hail every week or soThat looks brutal! Been nice and mild here

I noticed that too, wondering what 6pm temps are.! How many hours is it over 100?That's a wild temperature swing day to night.
I’m not the best at this so take my advice lightly as it may not be the best. I’d put it in if the heat is causing problems to foliage or the tree in general. If you’re able to keep the soil watered enough, which is very important for a BC, I would say it doesn’t need to be dunked. However, putting the pot in a low level tray of water in general is good for a BC, regardless of drought conditions. It can help the tree grow way better if you’re trying to get it to grow faster/fatten the trunk. At what temperature do we need to put bald cypress into water??? I've had my first one for a week and have just kept it watered, but the temps haven't really been over 80. Here, it's going to get into the mid to upper 80s this weekend before dipping back into the 70s.

They don't "have" to be in water at all. It's about 100 here all week and from seedlings to my big ass Spiderman are not water. I do have a tray with a few seedlings in water. If it looks tired (limp foliage) even after regular watering then might be a good time to dunk or reduce sun exposure. In ground BC is used to regular temps in the high 90s without flinching, in a pot you should be a bit more cautious. At what temperature do we need to put bald cypress into water???
