Looking to buy yamadori

Sad to hear. I had a not-so-favorable transaction a few years back and it cured me of trying to make money off of my hobby. I did get my money with a bit of "creative negotiating". I'm sitting on possibly thousands of $$ of world class bald cypress, but the bloom is off of that rose. The only way I would sell now is 50% up front and the balance on pickup at my house. No shipping for me.

I am still looking for that world class BC :)

Uncle C! Oh no!!! I had a bad feeling about DMV right off the bat. Thought they were just a troll but didnt know they meant harm.

Props to @Scorpius for catching it right away...Screenshot_20231110_213700_Chrome.jpg

I've got a few in my collection and know the whereabouts of many more. I probably won't collect any more unless I find something better than what I have. THAT is going to be hard to do. LOL.

Man, that sucks @Cajunrider. I hope that doesn't deter you from future transactions here, I'd really love to own one of your BCs someday.

Sadly these kinds of slimy rip off artists have been around since the practice got going. I bought several trees, including my live oak, from a Texas collector back in the 90s. He wouldn't ship a tree until it was paid for. He also learned from hard experience from being ghosted a couple of times on high value trees after he trusted buyers. I paid off the live oak over several months while it remained in Texas. Took some measure of trust that he would ship, but he was pretty well known, so the requirement wasn't a deal ender.

BTW, if this asshole is in the DMV, those trees might wind up in local collections around here after he sells them (which I'd bet he's going to do). I will keep an eye out and talk with some No. Va. club members to make them aware.

Karma is undefeated.

People who cheat others will always be cheaters and liars. That is who they are. They will eventually cheat and/or lie to their friends, family, spouses, children. Better to find out about it early, so you can distance yourself as quickly as possible. And eventually it catches up to them, and you don't want to be around when it does.

Stealing a bonsai tree. How lame.

"Wow, these are some nice bald cypress youre selling! Are these the ones you stole from @Cajunrider ?"

Dmvbonsai is also on Randy Bennett Facebook group. I am a little sad because I spent a lot of time giving forest placement chart and detailed advice on care.
Those big trees are very distinctive. I can spot those trunks anywhere. We will catch up to the person soon enough.

Damn. So many people were questioning this seller and Uncle C tried to be professional about it and give them a “fair” shake (in quotations because…well…it’s documented here…different people have different extents of fair shake). Sorry that your efforts to be accommodating above and beyond what may have been deserved bit you like that :/

That reads like victim blaming now that I look at it…dmv is totally at fault. Sorry you got taken advantage of. Some people are scummy…
