Cool trunk movement. I love the tree.View attachment 520581I am obsessed with this pot .. I really don’t want to part with this tree but also know a bigger pot can do the tree well. Oh someone help.
This is the pot I am considering

I like the overall gentle horizontal direction of this tree…..a superior path of growth. I’d resist the temptation to keep moving further upright. This tree presents more of a wandering sense of interest and quiet solitude.View attachment 558616Growing nice may wire out some of the new tips for positioning and light pruning
The tree looks fabulous now. It will look even better wearing the autumn colors in a couple of months. I hope to see an autumn photo update.
Thanks I was raining mos too The Weeknd so the bark is more brown than usual … I will def report back and I need to do more trimming in future … I really miss the old pot it was in but alas it’s too small for the development of the treeThe tree looks fabulous now. My Korean Hormbeam tree has slowed down to almost no new growth now. As the evenings get cooler I believe the tree cells sense the approach of autumn and begins to hold reserve energy to last over winter and then make a spring push of new growth. The last significant growth was back in early July with my tree. Thanks I was raining mos too The Weeknd so the bark is more brown than usual … I will def report back and I need to do more trimming in future … I really miss the old pot it was in but alas it’s too small for the development of the tree
I should get another 4 weeks of growth before colors change and temps drop lowMy Korean Hormbeam tree has slowed down to almost no new growth now. Great tree, great pot perfect match. We wont realy know till next year? But I like it.Final acquisition of the year (unless something else tasty comes my way)
Anyway, there is a Korean Hornbeam, it’s going to be used for Shohin. Already consulted with a very helpful person on here regarding advice for further development. From the second bench top since it’s lacking some taper, will regrow once it gets its bearings into a 7” round Iker pot.
Idk what it is about Hornbeam and Beech but I’ve taken a liking just as much as conifers. Going to be a fun spring.
