Korean boxwood. My tree, not done by me.

Do you find this slow to put out growth? I've got a few of these about the same size as yours, but only had them for year, but they hardly put out any growth.

I initially had to cut them back because they were quite leggy when I dug them out.
I’ve found growth to be moderate. Not as vigorous as my little gem boxwoods, but it grows alright I guess. I tend to trim regularly on this one. After 2- 3 leaf pairs emerge.

If you've had them out of the ground for only a year, growth is going to be slow. Takes a couple of years to regenerate the roots. They grow pretty well in containers once established. They're not rampant growers, but fast enough to develop decent branch structure in a few years. Hard pruning into old wood can produce pretty decent backbudding.

Nice tree...Boxwoods have beautiful white bark. Have you ever considered taking a toothbrush and some mild soap to clean up the bark.

Yes. I’ve thought about cleaning it up, but wasn’t sure if I wanted to. I think you’re right though, it may look better!
Thank you.

What kind of mild soap do you use?

I keep a big bottle of Dawn in my workshop just for such occasions
