Man sorce, I’m jealous of the kiln! I loved making the couple pots I’ve done. Just don’t think the house could handle a kiln... but I talked to someone at work (I work at a community college) who said they have a ceramics class, so a I wonder if they’d let me fire some stuff.
The hardest, and maybe even the funnest part of making pots is glazing. You have no idea what it’s gonna look like till after it’s said and done!

No seablast, but less than 10 minutes walking from the sea.
Jungle scenery and all the white and off white clay you could wish for.
Plus land to grow bonsai ........................

Time to flip that third switch. Done.
Have to watch for quartz inversion soon, I should reach near 900F in places with this switch.

Wares about 850-930F quite even top and bottom.

This is putting me through quartz inversion and they are going to reach Temps hotter than they've seen shortly after.
Lid closed at 11AM.
But both peepholes have remained open.
I lose readings on the infrared at 1000F.
So I'm just going to hold out on that last .
Bloody hell...slacking...3:08 now and I'm over 1000F in spots. Likely the opposite wall element nook.

Seems to be a drastic boost in Temps with the ramp up of the new hot coil.
Then when that temperature soaks into everything, it comes down and hovers.
Wares are solid at 900F-960F. Over 1000F some spots.
This is the zone I want to hover in and slowly run up at.
Allowing that 4th switch about 1 more hour or so....
Maybe more so GSH!
I have to be awake when my 6 cones bend in the sitter so I can reengaged for a soak at cone 6, try and partially bend some 7 cones before shutting her down.
I don't think slow cooling will be a problem.
I may use the other kilns lid to double layer my top.
A dude said he noticed a huge difference going from 2 to 3 inch lid.
I figure if I double up and have 4, I'll cool closer to too slow.
Which shouldn't really exist.....

Snapping switches on and off playing guess the temp to slow cool from 1800F to 1400F roughly...
F,.....just slow all day till I gotta sleep.
Praying for really bad weather tomorrow!
