Yes, it's part of the 5-year plan...Have you considered removing that sort of sub trunk on the right? It is distracting to me in some images.

If that cascade is what dead trees look like, I should go kill a bunch more of mine!Eric no need to. Brian doesn't kill stuff like I do!![]()
No. I've done it each year for the last 6-7 years, but was really trying to let it bulk up a bit and will not do a partial defoliation this year. Hopefully it will bud back just a little and keep growing for the next few weeks before I have to move it to some shade.Brian did you also do partial leaf defoliation? Is this something you expect to do with this tree every year?
When I was stationed in Saudi during Dessert Shield it was 110+ in the shade but very comfortable. There was no news to watch but I'd bet the humidity wasn't over 10%.Welcome to my world Brian! Been like that all season for us it seems... 100+, no rain. Desert conditions. Except.. We have 100% humidity with 100 degree temps here in the south= feels MUCH hotter than it does out west when it hits triple digits!
Exactly. I have been in Vegas when it was 115 and didn't feel as hot as it does here when it is 95 with high humidity! Not even close...When I was stationed in Saudi during Dessert Shield it was 110+ in the shade but very comfortable. There was no news to watch but I'd bet the humidity wasn't over 10%.
